LPR Port doesn't appear in Add Printer in NT4
The information
in this article applies to:
NT4
When setting up a port for printing via tcp in NT4 the LPR port does not appear
If the "LPR port" option does not appear, you most probably need to install or reinstall TCP/IP Printer Services.
To do this, you must go to Start | Settings | Control Panel. Click on "Network" and then on the Services tab.
If "Microsoft TCP/IP Printing" does not appear in the list, click Add... to get to the next menu. [If it does appear, there is a problem somewhere; most probably you should "Remove" and "Add" it back.]
On the "Select Network Service Menu," select "Microsoft TCP/IP Printing" and click OK. If clicking the OK button does not succeed, you will have to click on "Have disk..." and point to your WinNT installation disk.
