Allowing attachments blocked by default in Outlook for Windows XP
The information
in this article applies to:
Outlook
Windows XP
Outlook blocks potentionally dangerous attachments by default. Sometimes you will want to gain access to these. The following registry change will allow this.
Go to Start/Run and type in regedit and click OK
Find
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\microsoft\office\10.0\outlook\security
(if it doesnt exist create the office\10.0\outlook\security keys)
Now when youre in the security key, create one called Level1Remove as a String Value
Then under the parameters add the extensions of files you wish to allow to pass in the following format:
.exe;.com;.htm
You can add as many as you want, just separate each entry with a semicolon.
Once these changes have been made, you only need to restart your Outlook mail client for it to work.
