Server not responding after changing Folder Permissions

This article describes the bug where a OS X Server seems not to respond after changing Folder Permissions but carries on file sharing. Opening windows on the server causes them to be blank.
Whether due to
a bug or design (not known at time of publication) changing permissions on lots
of enclosed folders takes a very long time
I'm afriad waiting is the only answer.
If you pull up the Process Manager then look for Directory Services which will be hogging the CPU.
Once this has dropped back down the list then all the permissions have been set and you will be able to use the server again.
