Bomb Hoax

E-Mail Message Received (please note different mails may differ slightly)

I have just had a bona fide call from a friend who has said that his office have just received an email from The Police warning that they have received a coded warning that a bomb will be detonated at "a main line station and Leicester Square this evening at around 17:30... "

Whether this is a crank or not it's obviously worth knowing about - and avoided.

Thanks

The message is a fake. Please do not forward this and delete it from your mailbox.

A rather sick variation on an old theme. Best summed up by a return message a colleague sent back when he was sent it: hi! this is the police emailing you. we got a coded message that there's a bomb going off at 5:30 tonight! rather than announcing it on the news and evacuating offices, we thought we'd email you. if you don't get this email because you are on holiday, or don't check your email frequently, please let us know. or just die horribly in a large explosion - that'll teach you to check your email frequently!
cheers,
the police.
